GEOARM Review 2017

Founded in 1999, GEOARM provides do-it-yourself security solutions as well as serviced installation for monitoring and alarm systems. The company has headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida and is a division of AlarmClub. GEOARM provides specialized solutions for businesses and homes which can be integrated with wireless systems, computers, and smartphones. Services are available in all 50 States of the US including Hawaii, Alaska, and District of Columbia.

The Good

GEOARM is quite affordable with monthly fees starting from as low as $8. The company even provides a no-contract obligation on most of their equipment, enabling customers to easily cancel a subscription with a 30-day notice. Another innovative business model is their $0 down option which lets customers forego hundreds of dollars in upfront costs. One of the biggest advantages of GEOARM is their free lifetime technical support service available via phone and email to all customers.

The Bad

If a customer opts for a no-contract package, they will need to pay anywhere from $200 to $500 in upfront equipment costs. On the other hand, if they go for the $0 down option, they will be bound to a 36-month contract obligation with the equipment always remaining the property of the company. Another drawback is that GEOARM provides equipment warranty of only one or two years whereas most of the big players in the industry provide lifetime warranties on all hardware.

Bottom line

GEOARM provides a wide variety of brands and equipment to choose from. Their DIY solutions come with a no-contract and easy cancellation policy, which will make it an attractive option for new customers. Their 36-month contract comes with $0 down, which in itself is a good trade-off considering a customer can save up to $500 in initial costs.
